I interviewed Tom Seed about Ghost Town on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Venice Immersive in Venice, Italy.
Here is the story synopsis for Ghost Town:
- “Life has been going well for Edith. The paranormal detective agency she runs with her flatmate has never been busier, she’s almost up-to-date with her rent and the ghosts in her bathroom mirror have been less demanding than usual. Edith’s world is turned upside down when her brother goes missing and a mysterious new lead promises to reveal clues of his whereabouts. Edith’s journey begins with a visit to a remote Scottish island in the hope a gifted clairvoyant can provide some much-needed answers.”
Here are the contextual domains that are explored:

Artist Statement:
- “Development on Ghost Town — a single-player puzzle adventure VR game — began four years ago and expands upon Fireproof’s experience creating the game series The Room. The scope of Ghost Town is a significant step up for Fireproof Games in every way. Building on the immersive puzzles and atmospheric set pieces of The Room, Fireproof have crafted the puzzle gameplay they are known for into a variety of expansive environments full of detailed worldbuilding with a strong narrative focus. And, a first for Fireproof, there is a variety of fully motion captured characters who breathe life into the script and add a greater sense of depth to the narrative experience.”
